- Takadai Foot of the bowl
- Takadaiwaki The section where the foot joins the shoulder of the piece.
- Takadainai The carved area on the inside of the foot.
Terms for Lids (Japanese to English)
- yamafuta The lid rests directly on the rim of the body but has a vertical flange to provide stability. The lid and the body are flush.
- Otoshifuta The lid rests inside the form on a flange. When the lid is in place, a vertical flange on the body of the form and at right angles to the lip prevents any lid from moving from side to side.
